The Place Forks hold in The Spoon Theory
This was asked of me in a random conversation tonight, my response was as follows:
“Forks are like spoons that cause a lot of pain. You can still be active, but it’s like using spoons and getting stabbed by every one of them, i.e. when you are in near-constant throbbing pain.”
Then it came to the placement of sporks. Sporks are exactly what they are in real life-half spoon, half fork, i.e. using a spork is like using a spoon with considerably less pain, but the pain still is quite noticeable.

tru dat.
this is basically the motto of my life, carless as I will forever be and as much as I adore long distance walks.
No.
(Oh look abled people forgetting disabled people exists, GASP! That’s unexpected!)
Um. Not even remotely true. As a disabled person who can’t walk distances, that is patently false. Even things that are usually considered “walking distance” are NOT for me. And even if it is, I have to deal with complete and total exhaustion and pain afterwards, which is why I’m lying in bed right now because I WALKED around two stores this morning.
F*ck you, ableism that is BUILT IN to our society and ENCOURAGED by shit like this quote.
Ok. I know it’s an AB person writing and posting this picture on the internet. I’m fairly sure the person who posted this to the internet has a driver’s license and probably hardly walks anywhere. How about we modify this quote in an attempt to make it true?“Everything is within walking distance if you have the time, energy, food, water, places to sleep, and a clean bill of health.”
Also, on an unrelated rant, everything is in “walking distance” until it actually IS within walking distance. I want to get a job, but get yelled at when I ask for a ride to look for one, but when I want to go to the nearby wawa that is actually in walking distance for me, somebody always asks “why didn’t you ask for a ride?
“Having a mild disability means being told to ask for help when you’re trying to be independent and being told you need to be independent when you really do need help.” —Who said that? Oh wait…it was me.](http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lm0myaPgoM1qcjwm7o1_400.jpg)
